The school my children are enrolled in is an online homeschool. I am very pleased with what the children are learning. They are both in high school. They each have 6 teachers and a homeroom teacher. I am in charge of making sure they do their P.E., but they have a P.E. teacher to give the students additional assignments. We give her our written P.E. Logs so that she can maintain the proper records. I also record their attendance, which is all computerized. All of their courses are computerized as well. The homeroom teacher makes sure the students are doing well overall. This year for 10th graders they have a counselor to help discuss what type of classes are best for the type of job they are interested in.My children are totally computer savy now thanks to the assignments they have to do. They need to scan, fax, email, search the internet, write reports, etc. They both have improved their typing skills dramatically.

In addition to the regular courses, they also have many “get-togethers” to meet the other students in person. The school also gives them the required state testing at the end of the year. Each teacher has an online weekly session , where you can ask questions, view video/curriculum etc. from the teacher. You may also talk to the other students and exchange email addresses , with the teacher’s permission, of course.

I prefer this school, at this age because it gets my children ready for the “work world”, where, more than likely, they will be in much the same environment as they are now.
